Bathroom Makeover

It has been quite a while since my last post. I have been feeling restless. The holidays are always a crazy rush. For the first time in seven years, I did not have to work on Christmas! I was able to enjoy family and not have to rush out the door to get to work. My girls are still young enough and believe in the magic of Christmas. Delaney was very happy about the “awesomest Christmas ever!!!” We are truly rich in blessings. Not only did I have the luxury of having the holidays off, I had the added bonus of extending the vacation through the first week of January. I took the time to settle into my living space. Even though I have been living in my current apartment for 3 years, I realized that I still only saw it as temporary. I decided to plant my roots and make it my own. It started this fall when I decided to paint my bedroom. I have since fine tuned the decorating and finished it. This past weekend I attacked the upstairs bathroom. I have nicknamed it the “doily bathroom.” I was able to paint the bathroom with a robin's egg blue with "oops paint" from home depot. I found this frame at the "swap shack" dump section.
I painted it and filled in the frame with a screen. I have been meaning to do this project for ages.
The following pictures are the before and after of Ikea shelving.
I spray painted the shelves surfaces white first, then sprayed yellow over paper doilies.
This was just a plain white cabinet shelf before...
The frame was another "take it or leave it" dump find. I stapled a doily inside.
I modpodged antique doilies onto glass jars to hold makeup brushes, tooth brushes and other bathroom supplies.
Finally, I filled vintage salt and pepper shakers with "fairy dust" glitter for the girls, so they could dust as needed.
