Ultrasound

One healthy baby! Everything looks good. "Awww, cute!" according to Delaney. We got a due date of 12/30/08! So exciting! I will post the ultrasound pictures later. We are still without a computer at home.

Healing Quilt for Bill

This quilt was made for Bill. (Thank you for your professional photography!) He had to have back surgery and I made this to help speed up his recovery. It is a lap blanket, so just enough for him to keep his legs warm while he is resting. He has made a great recovery and is now back to work. I just free-formed the whole thing with batik fabric from http://www.quiltersdream.com/. I even made my own bias tape. It is too small to see, but I stitched "heal" onto the back of the quilt.
This quilt has a twin for another recovering man named Bill. This Bill is still very sick and needs your prayers and healing thoughts sent his way.
As a side note, Quilter's Dream is a beautiful shop that I remember taking pilgrimages to with my mom when I was little. They have beautiful fabrics and are very nice.

Celiac Diagnosis

I just got diagnosed with Celiac disease yesterday. The natropathic doctor that I started seeing did a blood test and found antibodies for gluten. She was very positive by focusing on all of the foods that I can still eat. She said it is not hard, just different.

I just bought this book http://www.celiac.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=48_51&products_id=802&osCsid=prht9mvuqcilqohkc7qgtctu25 to help with grocery shopping.

I am definitely looking forward to feeling better.

Pregnancy Brain #3

I think that I might start losing count soon of the pregnancy bloopers. I was getting ready for my ultrasound at 12:30 and reread the directions. The appointment is next Monday, not today. Yikes.

Pregnancy Brain Occurance #2

I left work 2 hours early yesterday so I could go to my cousin's baby shower. Oopps. Baby shower is actually today.
The pregnancy bloopers are only going to get better as time goes on.

Ultrasound tomorrow! Hopefully there is only ONE healthy baby!

Just a little trim

I should know better than to leave my knitting bag within reach of a 2.5 year old.
I noticed that the cat's whiskers got trimmed.
"Kitty needed a haircut." um hm.
Photos to follow.

First Official Pregnancy Moment of this Pregnancy

Yup. It happened.
I realized on the way back from picking our babysitter up that our gas light went on. She has recently turned 16 and is just learning how to drive. She has never pumped gas before, so I told her that I would show her after work.
Well, the pump wasn't working, so I went to tell the staff about the problem. After looking at me like I had 5 heads, I asked if they might want to put a sign on it saying that it was broken.
There were no more open pumps on the gas pump side of the car, but the lady behind me was leaving. So I just backed right up to the spot behind me.
SCREECH BUMP CRASH
I left the hose in the tank. While I backed up, I managed to bend my gas door all the way back, scratch the crap out of the side of my car and rip the gas hose right off of the pump.

Go me!

"That's how an expert pumps gas." I told our sitter.

Beads and Jewelry

Mom and I went to Beads East in Manchester, CT yesterday. http://www.beadseast.com/

It was like Delaney was on crack or something. Fingers in every single compartment, nook and cranny for beads. "OOOOO!", "Pretty!", "OOOOhh!" She is such a girly girl sometimes. She picked out a strand of rectangular yellow mother of pearl beads and a glass turtle bead. We will be making those tomorrow. The people in the store were relatively kid friendly. One warned me to keep a close eye on her and I reassured her that I was watching every move.

This is what I made my mommy.

I also cast on the Notre Dame de Grace Pullover by Veronik Avery. It should hopefully be really quick knit. Very brainless for now. I got a lot done at work today. :o)

Mike's Volkswagen Hat

I made this per Mike's request for Christmas. See details on Ravelry.com
Thank you to Mike for being a wonderful model. The agencies will start calling you. :o)
